Welcome to Rebecca McGuire’s Piano Studio! This document will outline expectations and rules for piano lessons. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Attendance
Regular attendance is expected. If you are running late to a lesson (5 minutes or more), please contact me by text or call to notify me.
Two lesson reschedules are allowed per half year (January through May and August through December). Please notify me as soon as possible for absences and reschedules. 24 hours in advance is expected except in the case of an emergency or sudden illness. I will provide multiple options for date/time to reschedule.
If I am unable to give a lesson, I will reschedule it with no effect to the semesterly reschedule allowance.
Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes early and leave no later than 5 minutes after departure if possible. Parking is limited, so it’s important to be timely with arrival and departure.
Students must sign up for at least 6 lessons in summer (June and July). These don’t have to be at the regular lesson time during the school year. A summer calendar will be provided for parents/students to sign up for a lesson time/date as desired.
Practice
Regular practice is required.
Tuition
Tuition is divided into 5 equal payments per semester (August-December and January-May). Total semesterly tuition for 30 minute lessons is $600, 45 minute lessons is $900, and 1 hour lessons are $1200.
Monthly tuition payments will be collected at the first lesson of the month.
A late fee of $10 will be added if the tuition payment is not completed at the first lesson of each month.
Tuition also covers recital and other performance (excluding competition) expenses.
Materials
Any materials used regularly in lessons will be brought to each lesson. This may include lesson books, printed sheet music, notebooks, pencils, etc.
Physical books will be bought by the student/parent. If I assign a piece that has a printable pdf, I will email a link for download.
Performances
Recitals will be held twice per year, one in December and one in May. All students are expected to perform if possible. Details about recitals will come out at least two months prior.
December recitals will be on the second Saturday of the month. May recitals will be on the third Saturday of the month.
A light reception will be held after each recital to celebrate student success.
Lastly
Have fun! Learning piano is an enjoyable and enriching experience that can improve anybody’s life. While level of enthusiasm may go up and down over the course of study, music creates a lasting impact on a learner. I am passionate about fostering a curiosity for discovery and learning new things through music.
